Although I love pretty much every kind of nail art going, Christmas designs are my fave by far. There's just something about the Christmas joy that makes usually reserved clients opt for glitter galore, and those that already embrace exciting nails all year-round push me even further in their design choices.
I'm sure Christmas this year may feel a little different to most, which is all the more reason to embrace the festivities in whatever way we are able. With that in mind, I thought I'd put together a selection of gorgeous festive sets, so that when the time to re-open finally comes around you can attend your appointments fully armed with inspo.
If I were to ask you which colour you associated most with Christmas, I'm sure the overwhelming response would be red. There are so many ways to jazz up this classic colour to make it feel even more festive - the obvious choice is of course glitter (choose CND™ Shellac™ Ruby Ritz for a subtle twinkle or opt for a loose Lecenté™ glitter for that all-out sparkle) but don't forget to also consider the eye-catching effect of a metallic red foil (pick between stunning full coverage, gleaming speckles, or as a foil sandwich for a gorgeous multi-tonal effect).
Pairing red with another colour can also amplify the Christmas effect - white and/or gold are both popular choices, and work well with a variety of stamped designs for that speedy but impressive finish.
We may not often have a white Christmas here in the UK, but that doesn't lessen the popularity of a snowflake set; it also has the added bonus of being a design which can easily see you through until January without feeling out of place once the festivities have finished. When I first started out, I used to painstakingly hand-paint each one, but now I rely on the various stamping plates I've collected over the years - a far quicker process but no less effective!
The wonderful thing about Christmas trees is that they are such a versatile option, as they work surprisingly well in a huge variety of colours so they have been an increasingly popular choice over the past few years. Not only can you mix'n'match stamped versions, but they also look stunning when created from hand-placed glitter shapes, as with the tiny star trees below.
Of course you don't have to go for the 'popular' choices - there are limitless options when it comes to Christmas nail art! Below are a selection of some of my faves from the past few years & I can't wait to see what you guys request this year - don't forget to check out the NbLDL Instagram Story Highlights for a reminder of all the stamping and sparkle choices available!
